Back-to-school painting, without the homework
Can you paint while the kids are at school?
Tell us your drop-off, pickup and work schedule when requesting your estimate. We’ll discuss available appointments, access to your home and which rooms can be worked on first. Repairs, drying time and the size of the job affect the schedule, so school-day painting does not automatically mean a room will be ready by pickup.
How long does bedroom painting take?
Timing depends on room size, wall condition, the color change and whether ceilings, trim or doors are included. Drywall repairs and primer can add time. We’ll discuss the expected project schedule before work begins—because your family calendar already has enough surprise assignments.
Can you paint just one child’s bedroom or homework space?
Yes. You can request a quote for one room, an accent wall, a study area or a hallway. We’ll help define the surfaces and preparation included so you can plan a focused back-to-school refresh within your budget.
What should we move before the painters arrive?
Remove school supplies, electronics, wall decorations, fragile items and personal belongings from the work area. We’ll discuss larger furniture and floor protection before the job. Keep backpacks and shoes out of the access path—the hallway obstacle course can take a day off.
Drywall repair & everyday family wear
Do you offer drywall repair in Queens Village before painting?
Yes. A Team Painting handles drywall repair and wall preparation as part of an agreed project scope, including common holes, dents and surface imperfections. We assess the area, discuss repairs and prepare the surface before painting. Learn more about our drywall and wall repair services in Queens Village.
Can you fix nail pops, wall cracks and damaged sheetrock?
We can assess nail pops, small wall cracks and damaged sheetrock and include suitable repairs in your estimate. Recurring cracks, movement or moisture may need the underlying cause addressed first. Paint can refresh a room, but it cannot hold a moving wall together.
Can you cover backpack scuffs, fingerprints and peeling paint?
Scuffs and fingerprints may need cleaning and surface preparation; peeling paint needs its cause checked and loose material addressed. We’ll recommend the appropriate preparation and primer for the surface. Touch-ups can show differences in sheen or color, so a full-wall repaint may give a more even result.
Can you include ceiling painting, doors, trim and hallways?
Yes—ask us to price the surfaces you want included. Bedroom walls, ceilings, doors, baseboards, hallways and stairway areas can be discussed together. A walls-only estimate does not automatically include ceilings or trim; your written scope should clearly identify each area.
Kids’ rooms, study corners & cleaner-looking walls
Can your Color Trends book help us choose a room color?
Absolutely. Use the A Team Painting 2026 Queens Color Trends guide to narrow down colors before your free color consultation. Then we can consider your furniture, flooring, daylight and room lighting. Sample colors in the actual room before making the final choice.
What colors work for a bedroom that doubles as a homework space?
Soft blues, muted greens and warm neutrals are starting points if you want a quieter-looking room. A brighter accent can bring personality to a reading corner or desk area. Choose with your child and test samples in different light—no paint color comes with a completed-homework guarantee.
What paint finish is easier to clean in a busy family home?
Washable eggshell or satin may suit high-traffic walls, depending on the paint product and surface condition. More sheen can also highlight imperfections. We’ll discuss the balance of appearance, washability and preparation, and follow the selected product’s curing and cleaning instructions.
When can children use the freshly painted room again?
Plan room use around the selected product’s directions, ventilation, drying and curing requirements. Dry to the touch does not mean fully cured or ready for scrubbing or furniture contact. We’ll discuss those instructions before painting; do not assume the room will be ready for sleeping the same evening.

Your price depends on the rooms and surfaces, wall condition, repairs, ceiling height, paint selection and preparation required. Send photos and approximate room dimensions for an initial discussion. We’ll clarify labor, materials and the agreed scope in your free painting estimate rather than promise a one-price-fits-every-room figure.
Do I buy the paint, or can A Team Painting purchase it?
We’ll agree on paint purchasing before the project starts. The estimate should make clear whether paint is included, customer-supplied or purchased for reimbursement. Confirm the brand, color, finish and quantities first so the material arrangement matches your budget.
